NeighborWorks Week 2021: Bringing Our Neighbors Together Again

Updated: Jul 16, 2021

Each year, NeighborWorks America celebrates NeighborWorks Week, showcasing how the network of organizations strengthens communities across the US. Held during the first full week of June, NeighborWorks Week is a time for us to give back to our communities and celebrate all the community leaders, volunteers, and supporters who make our mission come to life in Great Falls.

Last week, NeighborWorks kicked off the celebration with a safety panel titled, “The Secret to Preventing Crime: Get to Know Your Neighbors.” Panelists included Shane Etzwiler, member of the Crime Task Force and Executive Director of the Great Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Carol Bronson, Director of Community Initiatives at NeighborWorks Great Falls, Eric Ray, council member of Neighborhood Council 5, and Officer Jacob Smith, BRIC officer with the Great Falls PD. Together, they addressed the crime concerns of our neighbors and offered safety tips and advice from their hands-on experience in the community.

NeighborWorks Great Falls also offered a variety of neighborhood trolley tours, educating neighbors on the impact we have had in the community over the last 41 years. These tours gave dozens of local, engaged citizens a real look at the history of NeighborWorks Great Falls and a snapshot of several current and future projects in the community.

Lastly, NeighborWorks Great Falls hosted the annual Most Improved Awards, celebrating those in the community who invested time and money into improving their own property. We also recognized several of our own partners who helped build strong neighborhoods and create successful homeowners over the course of the last year:

NeighborWorks Lender of the Year: Mike Banks

NeighborWorks Realtor of the Year: Ambyr Rain Kleinholz

NeighborWorks Volunteer of the Year: Heather Cummins

NeighborWorks Honorable Mention: Jason Edmister

Most Improved Commercial Property: Dascoulias Realty Group

Most Improved Residential: Dana Hennan

Most Improved Rental: Valerie Grubich

Most Improved Historic Building: LIFESTYLE Building

NeighborWorks Great Falls thanks all those who participated in NeighborWorks Week 2021. We are grateful for the support of this community and all our neighbors who call Great Falls home.
